Neil Melanson, a military veteran with 7 years in the US Navy and retired Special Agent from the Federal Air Marshals Service, boasts over 20 years of grappling experience in submission grappling and MMA.

A Hayastan blackbelt under Gokor Chivichyan and Judo Jean LeBell, Neil is renowned for his expertise in ground fighting. He’s coached notable fighters like Randy Couture, Vitor Belfort, Dominick Cruz, and many more, on teams such as Xtreme Couture and the Blackzilians.

Dubbed “The Ground Marshal” and “The Godfather of Filth,” Neil is recognized for his unique techniques. Committed to education, he shares his knowledge through instructional DVDs and a book on mastering triangle chokes.
