Bruno Paez
Bruno’s journey through martial arts began with a diverse range of disciplines. From a young age, he excelled in swimming and soccer, while also immersing himself in the world of taekwondo, karate, and capoeira between ages 8 and 12. His family’s move to Texas marked a new chapter, where he participated in basketball, cross country, and track and field throughout middle and high school.
Following his school years, Bruno embarked on his martial arts training at Gracie Barra Katy (GBK), initially under the MMA program. This introduction exposed him to Sanda kickboxing and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, igniting a deep passion. He expanded his repertoire by exploring additional offerings at the gym, which included western boxing and Olympic wrestling.
Bruno’s path then led him to six years of service in the Army National Guard, during which he excelled in various physical training assessments and engaged in a combat deployment. After his military service, he further honed his skills by delving into Muay Thai, dedicating three years of study and competition under the guidance of Saekson Janjira. He also delved into Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training for a year at Progresso Jiujitsu.
Throughout his martial arts journey, Bruno has showcased his prowess in numerous events. He’s triumphed in four local Muay Thai competitions, as well as two MMA events and three grappling tournaments. Concurrently, Bruno has accrued four years of experience as a Personal Trainer and has spent two years as a Muay Thai and strength and conditioning instructor at Progresso Jiujitsu. In this role, he imparts his expertise to a wide range of students, encompassing kids and adults alike. Bruno offers personalized training sessions tailored to diverse goals, such as enhancing sport-specific performance, managing weight, and building strength.
Bruno’s passion for empowering others remains unwavering. Now an instructor at Octagon Martial Arts Studio, he seeks to share his wealth of knowledge and experience, consistently striving to guide and inspire his students to achieve their personal goals.
